Community Colleges of Spokane Online Graduate Success Story

Music Wind sound rooster   The town I live in, its a small community
very rural. Its mostly dairys, corn, hay we have Hops and grapes. The school Im taking his online. Classroom sound My name is Rebecca Kinney, I am a student
at Spokane falls community college.

I am studying to become a certified interpreter for the
deaf and its referred to as distance-learning. Music: I didnt graduate high school, I had my son
when I was 17 and when he was seven months old he got sick with meningitis, but when
he lost his hearing the first and the doctor said was that he was a good candidate for
cochlear implant. So we went through that, so when I was 20 I went got my GED. Moved
here when I was 21, met my now husband shortly after and start working for the schools and
we have 13 students in our def.

Ed program, and I interpret for 12 of them. Sound: an individual a committee of one Once my youngest started preschool and stuff
I started realizing that I have time I can do more for our lives and I can start working
on my dreams. Sound: instructor Online courses have benefited me in the way
that it has allowed me to be able to do everything I still need to be able to do and work on
my education. I can work a full-time job and put my homework down and cook dinner and or
I can even be listening to my classroom discussions while I'm cooking dinner.

There's been times
where I got so much homework and we are all sitting down at the table and were all listening
to my classroom discussion. Music: My mom never graduated high school my sisters
and I, none of us graduated high school so I am the first in the family to walk at graduation
into for any graduation so its a very big accomplishment for our whole family. Sound: this you give to the photographer  The fact that Im finally graduating with everything with my son you know, I wasnt focused on me
I was focused on him and focus on everybody else for so long and this is my first big
big moment , my moment and I did this and its just its amazing to finally be graduating
something even if its just my associates right now its big for me. Sound: Becky named announced I have three kids, a dog, two cats, and
husband full-time job in the middle of nowhere and the social life I've done it all online
and every quarter of been on the honor roll so its doable.
